==== email snippet ====Yeah, I actually liked [the movie] Arachnophobia -- spiders and all. It was kind of freaky though, because right after I saw it for the first time, I found a really strange looking, zebra-striped spider on the doorjam, right outside my front door. I have never seen one like that before or since.
So I got this great idea: I would capture him in this wine glass I have that happens to fit a Tupperware lid.
So I went out and trapped him between the wineglass and the doorjam. He leapt to get away and hit the inside of the glass and almost gave me a heart attack!
So there I was, with the lid in one hand and in the other a wine glass containing a really ticked off spider ...
"Hmmm ... How do I get the lid on without releasing him?"
So there I stood, contemplating my next move ...
After a while, he (and I) calmed down enough for me to try the maneuver. It was easier than I expected ... but, boy was that exhilarating!!! I looked at him in the glass for a couple of days and then let him go, back in the same place where I found him.
At the time, I was renting a basement and I could see his nest in the bush outside my only window. NOTE: Viewing him through the glass barrier really lowered my blood pressure. *grin*
That basement had suspended ceilings with florescent lights which I didn't use (the buzz gets to me). At one point I actually turned on the overhead lights and saw a small herd of spiders scurry away from the light on the other side of the plastic covers. EWWW!!!
Then, later on, somebody had babies in my bathroom ... gillions of tiny little astrisks all around the sink!!!
Believe me: I still don't like the idea of spiders touching me but all this exposure to them made it a bit less frightening to see them, if you know what I mean.
